12/9/2023 0 Comments Astro command centermac![]() I've never had an issue with this headset on the XBX it's been perfect on the XBX Sx and now since the update when I out the XBX into Standby the LEDs are flashing which didn't happen until I updated the firmware I haven't tested it on the PS5 yet but I'm guessing that I will likely run into the same issue. I have been using Astro A50 Headsets since Gen1 and the latest update for Gen4 has completely screwed up my headset and base station. My headset has worked for two full days without any issue after reverting to the old firmware. (This was the one that ultimately worked for me). This can be done by finding the folder (c): > Program Files > Astro Gaming > Astro Command Center > assets > forced_FW Use this file when you select "download firmware manually" from the Astro Command Center. Manually download a previous firmware version for the Astro Control Center. (On previous headset versions, you may have to use the "game" button instead of voice).Īllow headset to die completely and let charge overnight. Hard reset device: hold the Dolby surround button and "voice" button simultaneously for THIRTY seconds to ensure a hard reset. Try each one, and if the step does not work, move on to the next. NOTE: This process is for A50 Gen 4, though some of these steps are updated for other devices. A member and I spent several hours searching for a fix that did not require shady downloads or links. I see similar posts from people on reddit and in the Astro Discord. This started happening in the past few days and I thought my headset was bricked. Amber charge light not lighting up and charge dots not indicating charge progression. Charge saying "125% charged" then dropping to zero. Not charging/ charging to 50%, then 100%, then dropping to zero. Here's what my headset was doing prior to the fix: If you, like me, have experienced problems with the current Astro A50 firmware, I believe I have found a viable fix. Make sure you have enabled this option on your console by heading to System > Power Saving > Features Available In Rest Mode > Enable Supply Power to USB Ports. If you're on PlayStation, the A50 Base Station should now pass-through power to the headset for charging when the console enters Rest Mode. If you currently use HDMI or optical audio to feed audio to the A50 Wireless Headset instead of taking advantage of USB audio, you will need to leave this disabled. The audio will resume when you switch off your headset or dock it. This will now allow your console to automatically mute the audio feed to the HDMI and optical connections when your A50 Wireless Headset is used. Under your Xbox, head to Settings > General > Volume & Audio Output > Additional Options > Enable the option for Mute Speaker Audio When Headset Attached. When the headset is switched on or undocked, it will reconnect to the console and sync to your profile. If you're on Xbox, the A50 Wireless and Base Station now automatically connects and disconnects as an accessory if you switch off or dock the headset. A few improvements for Xbox and PlayStation users. Today, we've released a new update for the A50 Wireless and Base Station GEN4.
